Nanaimo
Flight Center
Nanaimo
Flight Center opened in September, 2003 as a satellite of Courtenay
Flight Center, in response to an invitation from Nanaimo Flying
Club. The members wanted an affiliation with an established Training
Unit to provide high-quality training in comfortable,
well-maintained aircraft. The spacious "upstairs office"
was made available for this purpose, and the school began. Members
responded immediately, several getting recurrency check-outs, as
well as training for a Private License. A Ground School course will
begin in January '04 and plans are being made to offer Transport
Canada approved courses to meet the two-year recurrency training
requirement.
The
instructor is Mike Beasley, who is a graduate of the Air Cadet
Glider and Power Scholarship programs, and Okanagan University
College Aviation Diploma Program. An experienced instructor, Mike
brings skill, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the school, and is
prepared to work fully with each student to help them achieve their
goals.
The
Flight Center is taking steps to achieve its own Operating
Certificate, and we fully expect that the relationship with the Club
and the community will be long and pleasant, and we look forward to
being a part of their future.
